Beautifully written Sarah. In the context of maternity care prioritising the feelings and beliefs of adults can cause harm to babies, which is largely unacknowledged.

Erasing the word "mother", just as the erasure of the word "woman" (https://twoplustwo.substack.com/p/people-with-a-vulva-or-how-the-word), is the ultimate breaking point for each and every one of us. It's about subjecting our society – and with it our values, our laws and our sciences – to an ideology that wants us to “reject the evidence of our eyes and ears”, as Orwell put it. If you get people to say that a man can be a mother, you can basically get them to say and believe anything. You've broken their spirit and made their cognitive dissonance complete.
